General FAQs
How Do I Contact EcoSig® Australia?
If you have a question about our powerbanks, our vape recycling program, or anything else. You can get in touch with us by sending an email to: serviceteam@ecosig.org
Where Are You based?
We're based in Toowoomba, in Queensland Australia. Which is where we ship from, and where our recycling and manufacturing operations take place.
How Are Your Batteries Sustainably Sourced?
All of the lithium-ion battery cells we use to manufacture our CasuallyLoaded® powerbanks, come from our vape recycling network. They're then cleaned, undergo a series of rigorous safety tests, and are re-used in our products. You can learn more about the entire process by heading over to our about us page.
Where’s My Nearest Vape Recycling Bin?
Our EcoSig® vape recycling bins can be found at various entertainment venues, some government run waste facilities, and some privately owned waste facilities across South East Queensland, specifically Toowoomba, Brisbane, the Gold Coast, and the regions in-between. To find a drop-off point near you, click the bin locator button on our vape recycling page. If you’re outside of these areas, contact us by email to discuss potential options.
How Much Does It Cost To Recycle Vapes?
Recycling vapes with EcoSig® is completely free for individuals and small businesses. There are no hidden fees for using our bins or participating in our program. However, large waste management businesses, government-run waste management facilities, or individuals with excessive amounts, may need to pay a processing fee.
Will You Recycle Any Vape?
Yes, we will accept and recycle any and all disposable or reusable vapes. Put simply, if it’s a vape or an e-cigarette, you can put it into our bins, and we will recycle it.
How Do You Recycle Vapes And What's Inside Them?
Most vapes consist of, a lithium-ion battery, plastic, and metal (usually aluminium). Once collected, we safely disassemble each vape to separate these valuable materials. The batteries are cleaned, safety tested, and then directly repurposed into our CasuallyLoaded® powerbanks. We then recycle the remaining plastics and metals using traditional methods.
Do You Ship Powerbank Orders Worldwide?
Yes we do, but if you live outside of Australia you will need to contact us before placing your order, so we can create a custom shipping option for you. This is because shipping lithium-ion batteries internationally by air requires special provisions, based on the destination country.
What Payment Methods Do You Accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards including: Visa, Mastercard, and American Express. We also accept Shop Pay, Google Pay, Apple Pay and PayPal.
Can I Change Or Cancel My Powerbank Order?
As we aim to process orders as fast as possible, you must contact us to request any changes or cancellations within 3 hours of ordering. All requests after this time may be denied. That said, we will do our best to accommodate you in the event you accidentally pick the wrong colour, or provide the wrong shipping address.
How Long Until My Powerbank Order Is Delivered?
We aim to process and ship every order within 24 hours of it being placed, 7 days a week. Orders typically arrive within 1–2 weeks, but during busy periods like Christmas or Black Friday, they may take 1–4 weeks. If you need faster delivery, we do also offer express shipping, with express orders usually arriving within 2–7 days. Please note that Australia Post updates their tracking information at their own discretion, and their delivery speeds are entirely controlled by them.
What If I Don't Receive My Powerbank Order?
If you don't receive your order within 30 days of it being placed, please contact us and we will get in touch with Australia Post on your behalf. If we cannot get confirmation that your order was delivered, we will send a replacement or issue a refund.
Why Should I Recycle My Vapes?
Disposable vapes have created a massive e-waste issue. They contain metals, plastics, and hazardous materials, including lithium-ion batteries. When improperly disposed of, these components can harm the environment and even spark fires in garbage compactors, trucks, and sorting facilities. Our vape recycling program safely prevents these valuable materials from ending up in landfills, while reducing the need for newly mined resources. Making it a smarter, sustainable, and more longterm solution overall.
Do You Recycle Other Types Of E-Waste?
No, at this time EcoSig® focuses exclusively on vape recycling. However, we are exploring opportunities to expand into other areas of e-waste management in the near future. Specifically general hydrometallurgical lithium-ion battery recycling.
Can I Get A Vape Bin For My Venue?
If you run a pub, bar, club, event space, or other small business, you can request a free EcoSig® bin by heading over to our vape recycling page and clicking the participate button. Participation is 100% free, including the bin, collections, maintenance, and any other support you may need.
How Big Are EcoSig® Bins?
Our bins are compact and modular, measuring 30cm x 21cm x 15cm, and weigh just over 1 kg when empty. Each bin can hold 30–50 vapes, depending on their size, and takes up roughly the same amount of table space as a large toaster.
What Happens When A Bin Fills Up?
When your bin is full, let us know by using the contact card attached to the side of the bin, or if the card has been lost head over to our contact us page. We’ll then arrange a date and time, usually within 7 days, for one of our representatives to swap the full bin for an empty one.
